What is the best way to mount your bikes on the Van 'n Bike system?
This is not very different from the way you would put them on the bicycle rack, on the back of the car.
Naturally, you will first mount your bike carrier on the Van 'n Bike carrier system.
When the bike rack is mounted on the Van 'n Bike carrier system, install the included Van 'n Bike Frame Holder. This connects the bike carrier's bracket to the center of the carrier system. and provides stability.
Placement of this Frame Holder is important to distribute the weight resting on the ball stud throughout the carrier system.
The first bike (closest to the rear CamperVan) is best placed with the front wheel pointed to the right.
This is the side where the 2 hinges of the Van 'n Bike are.
You can leave the steering wheel in its original position, so there is no need to put it in a crosswise position.
In order to prevent the handlebars from colliding with the rear doors of the Campervan when braking, it is advisable to install an additional spacer (Bike holder).
This is not necessary for every type of bicycle, but it is usually necessary for e-bikes.
The second bicycle is placed with the front wheel to the left. You can then fasten it as explained in the instruction booklet of your bicycle carrier (Thule, Uebler, Bosal, etc.).
How do you fit this additional spacerholder?
On the round tubes of the Van 'n Bike system, you can place an additional spacer (Bike holder) to keep the handlebars of the bike away from your rear window.
The various spacers from e.g. Fiamma spacers are particularly suitable for this purpose and can be adjusted in all directions.
